2. Interview
If selected for an interview, our HR Officer will contact you to make a time to meet. We can do the interview online or face to face in the office. At the interview, we’ll ask some questions to assess your suitability for the role, and give you the opportunity to ask us too.
3. Reference Checks
We complete reference checks with two referees you nominate.
4. Worker Screening and Checks
We will confirm all your worker screenings and checks are valid.
5. Congratulations!
With these steps completed, we will arrange a start date with you! We will also provide you with a contract of employment and some forms to complete as part of starting work at Hope Circle.
6. Induction
We aim to provide you with a face-to-face induction at our Parkside office, but may do this online if that suits better. Depending on your role, there will be a combination of on the job training, a handover, or maybe a combination of both.

Disability Support Work FAQs
How do I become a disability support worker?
Whilst it is possible to undertake support work within the NDIS without a qualification, we recommend that you complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability). There are various registered training organisations that provide this.
Hope Circle works with participants with mental health or psychosocial disability, so some of our staff have a Certificate IV in Mental Health instead or as well as the Certificate III.
You are also likely to need a driver’s license, as well as the ability to work in Australia.
There are some screenings (NDIS and Working With Children Check) and other training courses we recommend including: First Aid, CPR, medication and the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
What do NDIS providers look for in a disability support worker?
We understand that our disability support workers are the face and front line of the organisation working with clients.
Similar to other organisations, we look for disability support workers staff who have the right:
- Training and qualifications: which are just the starting point for undertaking disability support work.
- Positive attitude and character: having compassion and empathy towards clients is a must.
- Person-centred approach: being able to adapt flexibly to support clients the way they want and need.
- Communication skills: to work with the client and circle of supports around them.
If you have what it takes and want to make a difference, then we are interested to hear from you! Please follow the link here to submit an application.
