Recruitment process

Hope Circle has a fairly simple process that we follow each time as part of recruiting and inducting new staff.

1. Submit your application

Your application helps us to understand you, your qualifications and where you might fit with Hope Circle’s current client needs.

If selected for an interview, our HR Officer will contact you to make a time to meet. We can do the interview online or face to face in the office. At the interview, we’ll ask some questions to assess your suitability for the role, and give you the opportunity to ask us too.

We complete reference checks with two referees you nominate.

4. Worker Screening and Checks

We will confirm all your worker screenings and checks are valid.

With these steps completed, we will arrange a start date with you! We will also provide you with a contract of employment and some forms to complete as part of starting work at Hope Circle.

We aim to provide you with a face-to-face induction at our Parkside office, but may do this online if that suits better. Depending on your role, there will be a combination of on the job training, a handover, or maybe a combination of both.

Student Placement

Disability Support Work FAQs

Whilst it is possible to undertake support work within the NDIS without a qualification, we recommend that you complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability). There are various registered training organisations that provide this.

Hope Circle works with participants with mental health or psychosocial disability, so some of our staff have a Certificate IV in Mental Health instead or as well as the Certificate III.

You are also likely to need a driver’s license, as well as the ability to work in Australia.

There are some screenings (NDIS and Working With Children Check) and other training courses we recommend including: First Aid, CPR, medication and the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

We understand that our disability support workers are the face and front line of the organisation working with clients.

Similar to other organisations, we look for disability support workers staff who have the right:

  • Training and qualifications: which are just the starting point for undertaking disability support work.
  • Positive attitude and character: having compassion and empathy towards clients is a must.
  • Person-centred approach: being able to adapt flexibly to support clients the way they want and need.
  • Communication skills: to work with the client and circle of supports around them.

If you have what it takes and want to make a difference, then we are interested to hear from you! Please follow the link here to submit an application.

Hope Circle’s disability support workers have:

  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Current CPR training
  • Current Driver’s License
  • NDIS Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check
  • Assist clients with Medication certificates
  • And we prefer:
    • Experience working with clients with autism and challenging behaviors
    • Certificate IV in Mental Health or Certificate III in Disability, or equivalent industry experience

They also need the right to work in Australia.

We provide regular professional development and training related to individual client’s needs.

We are looking for dedicated disability support workers who are committed to providing the support and guidance needed for NDIS participants – including those with a forensic history – to build a positive future and live the life they want.

Hope Circle’s disability support workers can move between our supported independent living, in-home and community support.

We are always looking for suitable disability support workers:

  • across Adelaide from Morphett Vale in the south to Smithfield in the north.
  • across Perth from Kwinana in the south to Joondalup in the north.
