NDIS Forensic Services within SIL
Along with the services of a typical SIL provider, our work with clients who have involvement in the justice system or forensic backgrounds includes additional supports. You can find out more about the difference between normal and forensic supports here.
Our staff appreciate that there are different priorities to manage and support these participants to navigate the complexities of additional stakeholders such as corrections services, lawyers, mental health and behaviour support professionals.
While supporting the NDIS participant with daily living, our supports extend to include behaviour management, coordination with legal & corrections, and therapeutic interventions.
Similarly, community participation is different for a participant under home detention or looking to re-engage in community after time in prison. For First Nations clients, connection back with community can be even more challenging after incarceration and our staff provide empathetic support to find solutions amongst those challenges.
Forensic services require different priorities in delivering disability services and supporting the client, which our systems and processes capture. This is part of our role in supporting cliente as they interact between the NDIS and justice system.
For NDIS participants with forensic backgrounds or complex mental health, our supports are tailored to assist you with these needs. You can find more detail about our NDIS forensic services here.
